The weather is very, very hot and humid so I am only pottering around the garden a little, at the moment. I have to ensure the pond doesn’t drop too low and that the chickens have plenty of shady places to hide. It has been too hot to even think about cycling, so that is another small problem for me at the moment.
We have just returned from a wonderful city break in Budapest. We visited most of the main attractions and we would recommend it to anyone who hasn’t already been there.
Notgeld – I’m currently doing some valuations for people who want to understand more about what they have. It is interesting work as I can sometimes pick up good bits of info from them or see pieces that might be uncommon. By the end of the process, at least the owner knows the value of what they have, along with a couple of suggestions about the direction they might then want to take.
A few interesting notgeld have been added to my collection and I am working through a list of uncommon notgeld supplied to me, to see what I want from that. It is very nice to have a ‘first option’ with pieces not brought to the market as yet. I hope you are all adding interesting and ‘better’ pieces to your collections and that your passion for notgeld remains. This beautiful looking 50pf piece of notgeld arrived very recently. It is a very uncommon specimen piece from Golpa. (‘Aktiengesellschaft’ is similar to our ‘Co. Ltd’). It has been hole-punch canncelled with the word ‘UNGILTIG’ – not valid / cancelled:
