Description
A very rare ‘Franzosischer’ 100m ‘stoffgeld’ piece made of gold silk with a lovely ‘green and mauve with gold thread’ edgeing or border. Issued in Bielefeld, the piece is catalogued as ‘NGM05 6a-spurwhs’ in my Bielefeld 100m reference/catalogue.
Catalogue value of this ‘LP’ (stated in Band9: Grabowski catalogue – 30a) is upwards of 1000 euros! My Bielefeld 100m reference explains all the differences with these types. You get the actual piece in the scan. Originally these pieces were printed on sheets of 10 pieces and then the local seamstresses sowed different coloured borders onto them. They were then sent out all around the world.
