AUSTRIAN anti-semitic notgeld piece issued in Amstetten depicting ‘Jewish newspapers being burnt’. The note was issued by the Amstetten Branch of the German-Austrian Protection Society ‘League of Antisemites’ The piece has a face value of 50 heller and there is a swaztika on the reverse side – please see scans. Note is in excellent condition. (More info about these types can be found in my publication ‘Tarnished Gems’).
FYI – Today, Amstetten is infamously known as the birth place of Josef Fritzl
