Description
A nice group of the 3 known variants of this 20 mark note, issued in Frankenberg. The notes are dated ’12 Nov 1918 on the obverse. On the reverse, 2 of the notes have been stamped ‘Ausser Kurs Gesetzt’ (cancelled in some form). All 3 pieces are in ‘au-unc’ condition – please see scans which show the front and then the 3 slightly different backs.
Geiger catalogues the notes with this description/information:
The notes were no longer issued in 1918 and were first put into circulation in 1922 with the new date 8.11.1922 on the back.
Notes handed over to collectors were given the off-course stamp on the back, mostly as an oval stamp, sometimes also as a line stamp
