Description

A beautiful note issued on pink paper with a face value of  2 Zentner Roggen (2 hundredweight of rye). The note was issued in Neubrandenburg by the ‘Mecklenburg-Strelitzer Landbund’ and it dates from ’22 Nov. 1923′. The piece is in ‘au-unc’ condition  and it has a circular stamp mark and a hand-written signature (‘Braun’) under the 3 printed ones.  (wertbestaendige – fixed value – the note would still be worth xxlbs of rye in, for example, 3 weeks time, irrespective of the inflation rate). Only around 1/8th of all wertbestaendige issues were for an actual commodity! This would be a great addition for your notgeld collection……………Very scarce piece which catalogues under Lindman – N005b4, with a catalogue value of 200 euros (2008). Please see scans which show front and back of the banknote.

GNCC members can still purchase this note for 200 euros!
