Description
Noerdlingen 1.05 Goldmark note, dated ‘26.11.23’. This ‘wertbestaendige’ piece also has the value of ‘1/4 Dollar U.S.’ and it is in ‘very good’ condition – please see scans which show front and back. Interestingly, it has been reused / reissued as a ‘Hockersteuer’ piece (‘Stool tax’). There was a tax if you wanted to stay late in a drinking house and this one is for an extra 2 hrs which cost 40pf. It is a ‘stool tax’ because you could stay longer in your chair at the pub………….as long as you paid the tax!
