Description
Weimar – a 1 million mark note (grey), 1 milliarde mark note (purple) and a 20 milliarden mark note (green)…..all designed by Herbert Bayer of the Bauhaus. Beautifully simplistic in design, the notes would make a great addition to anyone’s collection. The notes are all in ‘used but good’ condition – please see scans which show fronts and backs of the 3 pieces. (A milliarde was 1000 million marks, so 1,000,000,000m). These notes are all genuine banknotes issued in 1923 when the hyper-inflation was rampant in Germany. They were issued by the Weimar ‘Landesregierung’ (State Government), Each of the notes have very beautiful but simplistic designs of course.
