I do hope all collectors are still enjoying adding new notgeld additions to their collections and that their passion for the subject, continues. It is wonderful to see a collection develop over the months and years, in number of pieces and the quality / scarcity of some of those pieces. I think it is important to have scarcer types in your collection as that is what will make your collection stand out from others. Collectors like pieces that are scarce or rare……or that no-one else has!
I have been doing a lot of research recently, for my latest articles, which includes the Bockum serienscheine pieces and the small sized Breslau tram serienscheine issues. For Breslau, I have already found 3 uncatalogued variants of the reverse advertisements! Its wonderful that ‘new’ pieces can still be found, over 100 years from when they were first issued and in the passing years when ‘almost everything’ was catalogued.
I was very pleased recently, when some more ‘true specimens’ arrived here and I was able to add them to my notgeld specimens collection. Here is one that I was very pleased to receive. Face value is for 500,000,000,000m………that is half a billion marks :

I now have 16 different notgeld ‘true specimens’ from Wuerzburg, which are all missing their usual serial number AND have hole-punched ‘UNGILTIG’ across them. Remember, a notgeld piece just missing it’s serial number (if it was usually issued with one) is not a specimen piece…………….even though lots of catalogues state that.
