With the glorious weather we are having, the garden has been worked on with newly created ‘raised beds’ and a lot of clearing work. One of the chickens was suffering when laying her eggs but I have luckily sorted that problem all out for her now and she is back to looking and being healthy – long story but I won’t go into all the details. I’m rather proud of myself for being able to help her.
Several notgeld arrived in the past few weeks. For one of them, the piece from Remscheid, I have just written an article about it all. It is a very scarce and interesting piece, so please do read about it. Another piece that I added to my collection, I will talk about next month, as I plan to make it the ‘notgeld of the month’ next time around. This month’s ‘notgeld of the month‘, on the homepage, is a lovely colourful piece and the graphic becomes so much more interesting, once the story being told by the set is understood. It is good to find out as much info as one can about the notgeld graphics as that really does help to bring them to life. They become much more interesting and hence the notgeld collecting passion stays strong.
I am slowly adding more notgeld to my shop that I found in an old album I once kept. There are some nice pieces so do please keeping visiting the website and the website shop. Most are not expensive pieces, maybe 2 or 3 euros each.
Here is a recent notgeld specimen / muster note I acquired. Issued in Bonn and dating from 1917, it was issued by the Bonn ‘Handelskammer’ ( The Chamber of Commerce). It is missing its usual serial number AND it has 3 star shaped hole-punched cancellations in its place. It catalogues under T-0825.05.01M :
Tieste (T) doesn’t include valuations for specimen types in his fantastic verkehrsausgaben catalogues but he values the ‘normal’ piece at 80 euros. So, one can say this is a scarce note and a great addition for my collection!!
