These slightly scarcer ‘baekerpfennige’ pieces can be seen as true pieces of German notgeld (German private verkehrsausgaben notgeld issues) – issued to go into circulation and be used – issued by private shopkeepers, predominantly bakers. This lot is a small collection in its own right! A great addition for anyone’s banknote or notgeld collection.
