Description

Patschkau – German/Polish set of 3 pieces. All the pieces are in ‘au-unc’ condition as is usual for these types (serienscheine). Complete set! The reverse of the 10pf piece is especially delightful in graphical terms.

The busy dwarves – no doubt borrowed from the Brothers Grimm story of the elves and the shoemaker – on the Patschkau note are actually showcasing the products of four long-established local manufacturers. For example, on the top left, the dwarf/elf is holding a hose attached to a fire truck made by the Kieslich Bros., founded in Patschkau in 1882 and producing agricultural machinery, fire extinguishing equipment, turntable ladders and mobile steam-powered fire hoses as pictured. (Further info is available to GNCC members via the specific Patschkau article).
