Muenchen ‘baeckerpfennig’ – ‘Albert Strauss’ 2 pieces – 3 + 4pf. These small sized pieces are made of coloured card and are in ‘used but very good’ and ‘au-unc’ condition. These pieces, printed the same on both sides, are small in size but are true pieces of private verkehrsausgaben notgeld. These types known as ‘baekerpfennige’ and were predominantly issued by shop-keepers and bakers located in Muenchen (Munich). Albert Strauss was a baker and these pieces catalogue under T-4680.1870.27/28. Every good notgeld collection, in my opinion, should have at least a couple of examples of these ‘baekerpfennige’ in them. The pieces date from around 1920.
