13th April 2023 at 6:29 pm #42357See below the Teutoburger Muenzenauktion 151, Bielefeld on 2 december 2022. I have chosen a few beautiful items from the auction. There are hunderds of common notes, but the most of them are rare to very, very rare. Take a look at: https://www.teutoburger-muenzauktion.de/de/ and be amazed of the variety. If you are looking in the cave of Aladin. I hope you are Croesus, then you can purchase a few wonderful pieces!!

2nd December 2022 at 7:29 pm #42479Hi Marcel and everyone – wonderful pictures and a good idea to post a few here. I think there may be a few pieces coming to GNCC members……….and I mean some of the rare pieces too! I can’t wait to see results and my fingers are crossed for those involved. Alas, I’m not a millionaire – if I was, I think I would have bought them all…….like a kid in a sweet shop! I guess that goes for nearly everyone here.
I note the signature on the framed piece of ‘Paul Hanke’ – absolutely wonderful!!!

19th March 2022 at 4:24 pm #38950Hi Marcel!
These material pieces from Bielefeld are absolutely wonderful for collectors. As you probably know, I specialised in collecting the 100 mark pieces with the different coloured and types of borders. There are about a dozen colours to be found with some of the borders types being very scarce and hard to come-by.
Those gold braided pieces can’t be too numerous I think. Maybe only a very small number were made for a few select people. I usually see them on eBay and always take a copy of the picture.
The green 1000m note with the white and black border is a completely ‘new’ one I haven’t seen before – please send me a scan by email and I will include it in my 1000m pieces book which is only going to get better and better over time.
The book pages are awesome – occasionally they come up for sale at auction, but I can never afford them. I have quite a few material pieces here, most are already in my shop or sold. I will add a piece this evening, with quite an uncommon border type.

17th March 2022 at 1:11 pm #38929Bielefeld, Notgeld Album, issued by Stadt Sparkasse Bielefeld. It is amusing that the Sparkasse has his own collecters album. Not in a perfect state, but I think it is rare, because it has a stamp of 100. Front (own collection)
17th March 2022 at 1:02 pm #38928Bielefeld, Ratsherren-Alben, 1926. It has an edition of a few dozen. It contains all the notes that the Sparkasse Bielefeld has issued from 1917 to 1923. It was a gift to he councillors (Ratsherren). Total pages are 19 (38 sites) with 105 notes (paper, linnen, velvet and silk) and with advertising. (photo archive)
I do not have the whole album, but with my two pages (four sites) I am a very man (see below)

17th March 2021 at 5:06 pm #35016Mine is 34mm diameter, 5-5.5mm thick. My scale broke (corroded batteries ) and I need to get a new one, so I don’t have a way to measure the weight right now. Once I get a new scale I will share the weight!
16th March 2021 at 11:36 pm #35015Nate – have you seen my table with the coin data? I am convinced that there are fakes out there as the sizes should all be identical (each face value that is) and the thickness of each coin too. If you email me with your data for the coin you have, I will add it in. Over time, we may build up a better picture. The table will show you that there are a few anomalies………..
15th March 2021 at 8:32 pm #35003Thank you! Hope to find a nicer 500 mark piece eventually, but have to be patient! :)
Here is my compressed coal dust 1922 100 mark coin. This one is hand numbered ‘734’. Hope to buy the other 2 denominations eventually!
15th March 2021 at 8:17 pm #35002Nate – again, you’ve done really well as these are all in very good condition. Nice one!!
15th March 2021 at 6:56 pm #34999Set of aluminum foil notes from my collection, purchased a few years ago
13th March 2021 at 3:58 pm #34981Very interesting…..as we know the date of the notes/pieces are incorrectly stated in 1921……………as the Ruhr metioned on one of the types actually happened the year after……….
It could have been a ploy then by the Bielefeld stadtsparkasse to jump on the collector boom of 1921!! They couldn’t have done it in 1914 because of the Great War starting but more importantly the notgeld collecting market just wasn’t there.
11th March 2021 at 4:43 pm #34962I searched the internet for the 800 years City of Bielefeld. To my surpize in 2014 they had the feast. So, 16 and 17 july 1921 was the wrong date. The mistake was made because they thought then that the first time Bielefeld was mentioned was in 1221, but the official foundation date was 1214.
7th March 2021 at 10:21 pm #34925Good point Gary! We will wait and see. Poessneck did it with the leather pieces, I think 60 years after the originals??, so there should be other places doing something I would assume. The Bielefeld money pieces would sure be a great hit with todays collectors.
5th March 2021 at 1:00 am #34894In July 1921 Bielefeld celebrated it’s 700th anniversary. Next July will be it’s 800th anniversary. I wonder whether they will issue any interesting currency or other souvenirs for the occasion.
5th February 2021 at 12:42 pm #34441stoff is ‘material’ so stoffgeld are pieces made of linen, silk, velvet, jute, aluminium foil etc. As soon as you have a few of these types in your collection, you realise how beautiful they are and start wanting more. I did it with the 100m pieces (silk and linen)….which were …and still are….my real passion and expertise.
Here is a nice example:
Dark pink silk with dark purple border – piece catalogues as ‘NGM04-2c-ns‘
5th February 2021 at 4:26 am #34436Now “stoff” is specifically for cloth, right?
4th February 2021 at 7:26 pm #34426Marcel – it’s a lovely looking lace border
It might be a very good note you have there!
4th February 2021 at 3:43 pm #34422Hi Tony, this 10.000 Mark piece is one of the creative Bielefeld-Stoffgeld-borders I have in my collection. I have several “Spitzen”and a few with borders. The variations are almost endless.Â
31st January 2021 at 12:38 am #34306Here is another beautiful material piece, this time ….. velvet!
29th January 2021 at 12:04 pm #34230I have 7 different coloured border pieces here that I am selling. They would make a great addition to anyone’s banknote / notgeld collection for sure.
You can always contact me by email direct (rather than this forum) if you want to sort out a deal for any of my notgeld.29th January 2021 at 11:59 am #34228I think so too.
Here is the reverse:29th January 2021 at 9:02 am #34223That’s a beautiful border Tony. Seeing it for the first time.
