Description
A beautiful note issued on yellowy-brown paper with a face value of 5 pfund Roggen (5 lbs of rye). The note was issued in Angermuende by the ‘Landbundgenossenschaft’ and it dates from ‘9 November 1923’. The piece is in ‘au-unc’ condition and it has a circular stamp mark and a hand-written signature alongside the 2 printed ones. This means that the note was actually issued. The raised stamp mark (pragestempel) is a lovely one which has 3 ears of rye, on it.
(wertbestaendige – fixed value – the note would still be worth xxlbs of rye in, for example, 3 weeks time, irrespective of the inflation rate). Only around 1/8th of all wertbestaendige issues were for an actual commodity! This would be a great addition for your notgeld collection……………Very scarce piece which catalogues under Lindman – A015.2, with a catalogue value of 80 euros (2008). Please see scan – the note is uniface.
GNCC members can still purchase this note for 80 euros!
